The right rug size comes down to two things: the space you’re filling and the job you want the rug to do. A rug should feel intentional, big enough to define its spot, with a balanced border of floor around it. This guide walks you through measuring your space, choosing a size and shape, and matching the design to the room.
Start by measuring your space
Measure the area you want the rug to cover, not the whole room. Note the length and width of that zone, for example the space beside your bed, under your desk, or in front of your sofa.
The best trick: outline the size on the floor with painter’s tape (or lay down newspaper) and live with it for a day. It’s the fastest way to see whether a size feels too small, too big, or just right before you buy.
The one rule that matters most: proportion
The most common rug mistake is going too small, so the rug floats like a stamp in the middle of the floor. You want the rug large enough to anchor its zone, framed by an even border of visible floor on all sides, rather than crammed against one wall.
The sizes we offer (and where they shine)
Right now our rugs run up to about 4'11" (150 cm) on the longest side. That’s a deliberate choice: oversized rugs carry steep shipping costs, and we’d rather send you a flawless statement piece than a compromised giant one. We’re actively working toward offering larger sizes.

Statement piece
For a living room, a gaming setup, or any larger space. Size up from 3'3" (100 cm) on the longest side so the rug anchors the zone and your furniture or desk sits on it. This is where a bold design does its best work, as the room's focal point.
Bedside & everyday rooms
A medium piece, around 2' to 3'3" (60 cm to 1 m) depending on the spot and the room size. Perfect running alongside a bed, in a compact bedroom, or anywhere you want a soft, styled anchor without filling the floor.
Entryway
A small piece, around 1'8" to 2'4" (50 to 70 cm) depending on your door width. Adds a welcome moment at the door and catches dirt as you come in.
Other ways to use them: any of our sizes also works layered over carpet or a larger neutral rug as the “hero” on top, and hung on the wall as art (hugely popular in streetwear and anime spaces).
Shape matters too
Rectangle. The most versatile shape. It follows the lines of beds, desks, and sofas, so it’s the safe default for most spots.
Square. Great for square zones: under a square coffee table, centered in a compact room, or mounted as wall art where a square frames a design cleanly.
Round. A round rug softens hard, angular rooms and breaks up boxy furniture. It works under a round table, beside a bed, or to add a curve to a gaming setup.

Every product page lists exact measurements in both feet/inches and cm, and because our rugs are hand-tufted, allow a small tolerance of about 1 to 2 cm (under an inch).
Common mistakes to avoid
- Going too small. When in doubt, size up a step. Small rugs shrink a space.
- Forgetting the border. Leave an even margin of floor around the rug on all sides.
- Ignoring the roll zone. For a desk or gaming chair, make sure the chair stays on the rug as it moves.
- Not testing it first. Tape out the size on the floor before you order.
